Trail walks

 

1. Self guided tour:

feel free to walk at your own pace and discover by yourself the wildlife that thrives in our forest and choose your own route within our trails:

 
 

Coati trail

 

This trail is recommended for people who prefer a small peaceful stroll in an easy terrain, relatively flat without many stairs. The trail begins in one of our coffee and banana plantation which enhances the probability of observing Agoutis coatis and several species of butterflies. The “Stone Ficus” in the entangled roots of this magnificent tree it is possible to find the orange kneed tarantula, the trail finishes off with a small waterfall.

 

Distance: 720 mts

Length of trail: 45 minutes

 

Manakin Trail

 

Because of its enclosed location in a dense forest it is preferred by the long tail Mankin this is why this precious birds can be found here throughout the whole year. In this trail you will find signs indicating the path towards the second banana and coffee plantation where our family harvests organic coffee beans for the manufacture of our home made coffee. At the end of the trail you have the option to visit the largest waterfall or small water fall.

 

Distance: 2.3 Km

Length of trail: 1,30 hours aprox

 

Capuchin  Monkey Trail

 

Ideal for those who love amazing views, It contains three different viewpoints , two of them towards  a canyon and the third one towards the majestic Nicoya Golf , you will also have the opportunity of visiting one of the most marvelous trees of our reserve called the “Hollow Ficus”  towards the end you have the opportunity to visit one of our waterfalls  with a height of  55 feet.

 

Distance: 4 kilometers

Length of trail: 2 hours aprox

 
 

Includes: the entrance throughout the whole day a map and an explanation of the route.

Schedule: 7:00am to 5:00pm

What to bring: long pants, hiking shoes, insect repellent, raincoat (seasonal) and camera.

  2. Day Guided Walk:  

Feed your brain with knowledge about our forests accompanied by one of our local guide, who will share our story with you , the importance of our forests  and help you along your walk to find the thriving wild life found here. An educational and enriching experience!

 
 

Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

Recommended time: 7:30am or 1:30am  ( you choose the time )

What to bring:  long pants, hinking shoes,  bug repellent,  rain coat (depending on season)  and photographic camera.

  3. Guided Night tour :

Do you know where all the mysterious sounds at night come from? Equipped with a flashlight discover it along side one of our knowledgeable local bilingual guides, falls for this experience as you can find a variety of nightlife: foxes, owls, orange knee tarantula and more.
